This year’s clinic will be held in the summer, the weekend of Friday June, 22nd and Saturday June 23rd. We are fortunate enough to have the ability to coordinate the camp with Middleton High School Boy’s Varsity basketball camp. This camp will provide very high levels of competition, all varsity and mostly division one and two teams from all over the state. The clinic will offer instruction and on court experience for three person mechanics. WIAA Approved Officials at levels L1-L3 completing the training will advance one level upon re-licensing, and officials at L4 through Master levels will receive credit for one varsity contest. These credits will be applied to the 2013 – 2014 season for determining tournament eligibility. Attendance on both Friday and Saturday is required to receive WIAA credit. Instruction The clinic will include breakout classroom sessions covering various topics. We will also discuss expectations of the WIAA and what they would like to see in return. With the implementation of 3 person mechanics, there is much interest from officials regarding how they are going to get training to prepare for the upcoming season, but years ahead. Therefore, the clinic will consist of a mandatory attendance on Friday night to review 3 person mechanics video, as well as going over the 3 person manual developed by Referee Magazine. Registration and Fees Return the registration form with a check payable to the SWOA in the amount of $75.00 no later than May 30, 2012. There will be NO REFUNDS and NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. Also, on the registration form indicate below your current WIAA Officiating Level, how many varsity contests you worked last season and how many you have scheduled for next season. Upon receipt of your registration and check, you will be sent a confirmation via email with address and directions to the clinic site. If the clinic is filled and you are not one of the 30 campers, you will receive full reimbursement from the SWOA. Questions may be directed to Thomas Kaster at tkaster27@gmail.com. |
